I wanted to do pinto bean chilli from River Cottage Veg book this weekend and the only reason I ended up doing it today was that the avocados for the accompanying guacamole had ripened. Well, it ended up being the perfect meal for a cold and rainy day. I made tortillas to go with it all, using Dan Lepard ‘s recipe from Short and Sweet, here they are:
Totally misshapen but I guess that comes with practice and it was my first time making them. Pinto bean chilli was very, very good, just in the blue pot in the back of photo. Glad I made quite a lot of it.
Earlier today, went back to Heron Tower to have breakfast at Duck and Waffle, views still great, despite the weather, food less so, which is a shame because they write it up so wonderfully on the menu and then they don’t execute it all that well. Posting a photo of the gherkin from Heron Tower, looks a bit small in comparison, no? Again, lomo makes it all look so much better than reality
