Made this rather tasty Caramel and hazelnut layer cake from Dan Lepard’s Short and sweet yesterday afternoon. Where is the ‘layer’ in the layer cake, one might say and, the layer has melted. Oh well, I am not complaining the weather is marvellous so if the icing melts, the cake will be even more moist. I think same cake would work well with chocolate instead of caramel and once I feel more confident with working out the ratio of butter/ sugar/ egg in cakes, might even start experimenting.
Off to do a part of the Capital ring walk in a bit so no bread making today. Will be making bread tomorrow. Here’s another cake picture:
