Chocolate and almond fudge cake

This is a rather nice flourless cake, which I made yesterday afternoon as needed a break from working v hard all day. With rolled oats and golden syrup + the usual ingredients. Served with lightly whipped double cream with a few drops of PX sherry. Very good afternoon ‘snack’. Recipe, as usual from Dan Lepard‘s Short and Sweet. Pics taken just before downpour yesterday so light terrible:

And my food ‘styling’ needs serious work too – was actually going to quenelle the cream on but it was only lightly whipped so that wouldn’t have worked and I ‘topped’ the cake instead:
